Weekend update

How was your weekend? I think one can safely assume our weekends are now fairly tame and sometimes boring but let me remind you, we have not one, but two 6 month olds in our tribe, so it looks like this is the way things will be for a while.

Two highlights from this weekend: a) on Friday, I went to the International Gem & Jewelry Show with a few jewelry designer friends of mine to watch them do their thang. It was definitely an experience being amidst all the hustle and bustle of people digging through boxes of sparkly things, watching the pros in action and seeing what inspires them to create what they do; AND b) finally had the chance to stop by Vivier and Bentley to check out all the beauties that have been calling to me for months. Needless to say, I was not underwhelmed. Of course I couldn't leave completely empty handed, but more on that soon...

TGIF!

Hope everyone had a good week and is excited entering into the weekend. My first full week of being home with my nuggets was fairly uneventful. I'm not going to lie. I think it's going to take a bit of time to shake the feeling that I should be somewhere else, or that I need to be doing something tangible at every moment during the day, like marking up documents or drafting agreements, but here are a few things I did do.

Took leisurely walks in our hood with double stroller and dog in tow (yes I must look like a pack mule or a ringleader of a circus). It's so heartwarming how full of wonderment babes are over even the simplest things like leaves rustling in the breeze or shadows dancing on the pavement. To be that innocent again...

Had long morning chats over breakfast and coffee with my loves without having to constantly glance at my watch.

Finally had the time and energy to meet up with good friends for glasses of wine and charcuterie platters and relaxing yet rejuvenating conversation (all very delicious).

Slow danced to Adele and Bruno Mars in the living room with each of the nuggets.

I should mention that it was as hot as hades here, so our options were sort of limited. Here are a few pictures to wrap up this week!

Another year older, a new chapter

I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend! Mine was spent celebrating with close friends and family and mothering, mothering and mothering some more.

Birthdays are usually just another day for me, and as I get older, they become less and less significant. This year, my birthday marks the beginning of a new chapter of my life as a full time mom for my twins. To celebrate the occasion as well as our upcoming anniversary, my husband surprised me with this!

My hubs is a very thoughtful man indeed.

And... my first attempt at making home made baby food. For all you women / men out there making five-course meals every night, give a girl some credit! Prior to this, I didn't even own, let alone know what a hand immersion blender was. So yes, this makes me a very proud girl.
