What's in store this week
I've been in full time mommy mode and also on an internet diet. It's hard I tell you! But when you literally have 3 hours to yourself a day while the babies are napping, I don't think surfing the web is the best use of my time. Need to turn away- at least for a bit to reset...
Things I'm looking forward to this week:
Have a productive week everyone!
Things I'm looking forward to this week:
- Getting this shedding mane cut down! Finally. Will post pictures (if it turns out ok. If not, more pictures of buns and pony tails to come).
- Learning how to knit. Finally signed up for a class this Friday. Can't wait
- Planning our first trip with the nuggets. Looks like we'll be going to Vegas in a few weeks. Should I be panic stricken? Excited? Both?
Have a productive week everyone!

Cozy day
Yesterday was one of those days where I decided to keep the nuggets in their pjs... They just looked so cozy and comfortable while it's chilly out (for LA).
I remember actually buying something akin to a sleep n' play from J. Crew back in law school. Somehow, it just didn't have the same effect...
And, what a cool fish bowl. It looks somewhat precarious but neat idea nonetheless!

Tattoos
To tattoo or not to tattoo? Back up for a second...
When you think of tattoos, at least when I do, images of the Hells Angels, society's misfits or girls baring their cheesily inked lower backs with very low riding jeans often come to mind- not attorneys/working professionals (or now retired professionals/stay at home moms) or other "respectable" members of society.
But I have one already. I love it and think it's beautiful. It's beautiful to me because it's meaningful and something I know I won't tire of. It was never meant to be a fashion statement nor a statement of any kind. It wasn't a spur of the moment decision. So this isn't an issue of whether I want one. I have one.
I actually walked into the tattoo studio yesterday but left without one because they didn't have any appointments available but I'm not really contemplating another. I know I'm going to get one. Location and content to be revealed at a later time.
Now that I'm a mother, of course the thought of whether I want my nuggets to see mommy's tattoos or whether I'd approve if they got one has crossed my mind. Without getting into too intense or serious of a discussion, so long as they stay on the straight and narrow like I have and use their utmost discretion (and run it by me a million times before actually doing it), I won't have a heart attack.
One thing I did leave the studio with:
Love it.
And further to my last post (and somewhat of a non sequitur but what else is new?), baby body parts are the best, aren't they?
Everything's just so plump and precious...

Work spaces
I'm always so inspired seeing people in their element doing what they love, whether it be a physician at an operating table or an artist at an easel.
Both The Makers and Work Place give us glimpses into the work spaces and the creative processes of super talented artists, designers, entrepreneurs... Would love to one day have a beautiful work space of my own.

Erik Johansson
He's only 21 and amazingly talented. Erik Johansson takes photos and then retouches them to create really cool, surreal and sometimes disturbing images.

Escape...
One thing on my bucket list: to see the northern lights in all its glory. Another example of how nature has a way of creating the most spectacular and haunting images sometimes...

Holy moly
Ok, I lied. I'm back.
The following totally blows my mind. Can you imagine sitting there for several months, chipping away at the tip of a pencil?? Can you also imagine how livid you'd be if, after these several months creating a miniature masterpiece, the entire thing cracks and falls apart with the final scratch?? I would surely go mad and I'll be the first to admit... I def do not have the patience (nor talent) for that, let alone spending even like 30 minutes working on something that small.
He doesn't even use a magnifying glass.

Freaks and geeks
Don't you like it when things just fit? Like when I'm sitting at my desk, I find myself arranging things such that the note pads and post it notes are right at the corner of my desk and the 90 degree angles match up. Or I'll set my drinking glass on one of the circle patterns on a table cloth and feel great satisfaction when it fits exactly. Stuff like that (am I scaring you now?). This is total eye candy for all my OCD friends and family out there.
and forget about CGI, special effects, what not. Nature has a way of creating the most spectacular and haunting images sometimes...

Floating on air
Some people are just so random and brilliant. Like the woman who decided to one day start taking self-portraits of herself looking like she's floating mid air with just a tripod and a self-timer. Pretty magical stuff.
Sort of a side note: Pretty impressive how relaxed her face is while she's doing these really strenuous jumps! My brow would be all furrowed and every tendon in my neck would be sticking out. And, it's even more impressive that she doesn't look athletic at all! Ok, starting to go off on a tangent so I'll end it here.
